A Summit designed to ask better questions
AI is reshaping how creative work is made, shared, discovered, and valued. The AI and Creativity Summit brings global perspectives into an Aotearoa context. The goal is not to rush to answers, but to prompt curious minds to explore what is changing and what matters most.
Across two cities, we will look at real creative practice, new opportunities, and the tensions that come with speed. This includes truth and trust, copyright and attribution, social license, and the future of creative craft.
Curiosity is the starting point. Responsibility is the standard.
How AI is transforming journalism, trust, and the business of news — and what it means for Aotearoa.
What happens when synthetic content scales? How do we verify what’s real, what’s manipulated, and what’s misrepresented?
Creation, inspiration, training data, copyright, and attribution — where are the lines now, and where are they heading?
What do communities accept — and what do they reject? How do we build trust and accountability as AI becomes embedded in creative work?
Human stories from people using AI thoughtfully — showing what’s possible without losing the craft.
Tools, workflows, and emerging norms across film, design, writing, music, and beyond.
We are hosting the Summit across two locations so more people can take part. Both cities will feature shared themes and speakers, with a focus on conversation, not lecture. Expect big ideas, grounded debate, and moments of creative inspiration in Wellington and Auckland.
